Rummaging through my file case, I recently came across a diatribe by Danny Postel in In These Times (April 24-30, 1991) that mercilessly assails both Paul Piccone and me. Postel, a self-described Marxist, goes after my now deceased friend for having presumed to publish my writing, and in particular my qualified defense of Heidegger against Heidegger's then latest Marxist critic, Victor Farias. Despite Postel's curious belief that I was an agent of the Heritage Foundation (which would have found my views even more obnoxious than he did), he nonetheless accurately quotes those pieces in Telos that had offended him.
