The Mussolini Fallacy on Iraq

Now that the two main justifications for the war in Iraq (weapons of mass destruction, and 9/11) are proving to be rather bogus (as Wolfowitz himself has admitted), the fall-back has become the "bad regime." But to say there is now one less bad regime in the world is a bit like saying Mussolini made the trains run on time. This "Mussolini fallacy," as it could be called, begs the old question of whether the end justifies the means. Obviously, with enough power you can do good things. But what else is new? Just because one can, does not make...
