Although Telos does not ordinarily deal with current events, the urgency of the present crisis calls for both responses and analyses—especially in light of the confusion it has generated. A few days after September 11, well before the launching of military operations in Afghanistan or even before the anthrax crisis, the following call for contributions to a debate on the subject was sent to the journal's editors and collaborators.
