Given that higher education, especially at the undergraduate level, is perceived to be bankrupt, what is its future? There have been attempts in various colleges to deal with the fiscal crisis by "reengineering," "restructuring" and "downsizing," while desperately trying to remain "competitive" in the market place for students.
